We are pleased to announce that MPX-Fundamentals, the power market simulation platform provided by MPX, Inc., has been adopted by The Kansai Electric Power Co., Inc., headquartered in Chuo-ku, Osaka.
Through MPX-Fundamentals, we will support the optimization of fuel procurement, power generation and wholesale trading, as well as investment decisions related to decarbonization, thereby contributing to the sustainable development of the power industry.
About MPX-Fundamentals
MPX-Fundamentals is a simulation platform that models wide-area merit-order dispatch based on user-defined scenarios. It calculates wholesale power prices, output from individual power plants, CO₂ emissions, fuel consumption and interconnector flows on an hourly basis for periods of up to 50 years.
The platform is jointly provided by MPX and KYOS Energy Analytics of the Netherlands. MPX regularly supplies a standard dataset reflecting the latest available information, enabling users to easily create input data incorporating their own assumptions and scenarios.
The simulation results can be used for a wide range of purposes, including wholesale power market analysis, trading decisions, operational optimization and investment planning.
